This was saw-pierced and designed with delicate divots and holes resembling natural flow of bubbles floating up to the surface of water, which may be a familiar element you might find in Malaysian Batik worn as Sarongs by the Nyonyas (Peranakan females).
The Sterling Silver element has a satin finish, this one is called Seahorse, with Natural Rose Cut Emeralds. Perfect to be worn for corporate work from day to night wear, or to vamp up a casual look.
A one-of-a-kind piece to pay tribute to my heritage.
5cm long (2 inches)
1.5cm across widest point (0.6 inches)
A little background into what inspired this collection: My heritage commonly known in Malaysia and Singapore as Baba Nyonya, is rich with beautiful motifs of nature.... We, the Peranakan / Straits-born people are descendants of Chinese immigrants who came to the Malay Archipelago back in the 15th century, and adopted other cultures (Malay, Indian, a bit of English) into our food, fashion and architecture. I am slowly beginning to appreciate and embrace my culture as i never realized there's so much beauty surrounding it...
