This was saw-pierced and designed with delicate divots which may be a familiar element you might find in Malaysian Batik worn as Sarongs by the Nyonyas (Peranakan females).
The Sterling Silver element has a satin finish, this one is named Paku Pakis translated into English as fern, with Citrine briolettes for that little bit of sparkle. Perfect to be worn for corporate work from day to night wear, or to vamp up a casual look.
A one-of-a-kind piece to pay tribute to my heritage.
4cm long (1.5 inches)
1.1cm across widest point (0.44 inches)
A little background into what inspired this collection: My heritage commonly known in Malaysia and Singapore as Baba Nyonya, is rich with beautiful motifs of nature.... We, the Peranakan / Straits-born people are descendants of Chinese immigrants who came to the Malay Archipelago back in the 15th century, and adopted other cultures (Malay, Indian, a bit of English) into our food, fashion and architecture. I am slowly beginning to appreciate and embrace my culture as i never realized there's so much beauty surrounding it...
